VINCENT A. GILLIS QC

Practicing for over 35 years, Vince’s experience provides him with a keen eye for detail allowing him to work swiftly and precisely. In 1978 Vince graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration majoring in Accounting from St. FX University, followed by graduating from Dalhousie Law School in 1982. Vince was called to the bar in 1983, and has been practicing ever since.

With his Queen’s Counsel Designation, Vince maintains a general practice as a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers Society. Vince has extensive experience in corporate and business advisory, purchase and acquisition, regulatory matters, labour relations, real estate, and criminal and civil litigation. Vince has appeared in a variety of courts including the Federal Court of Canada, Nova Scotia Court of Appeal, Nova Scotia Supreme Court and Nova Scotia Provincial Court.

Vince has also presented before several tribunal bodies including Utility and Review Boards, Labour Standards, Workers Compensation and Workers Compensation Appeals Tribunals. Vince is also in International Business Law dealings.

Vince is a member of the Cape Breton Barristers Society, Nova Scotia Barristers Society, Atlantic Provinces Trial Lawyers Association, the Canadian Bar Association and the Real Estate Lawyers Association of Nova Scotia.

STEVE JAMAEL

Steve graduated from Sydney Academy then attended Dalhousie University where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 2012. He then continued his education at Dalhousie University, where he obtained his law degree from Dalhousie’s Schulich School of Law in 2016. After completing his articles Steve was called to the Bar in 2017, and started practicing law at Vincent A. Gillis Inc.

As a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers Society, Steve maintains a general practice that encompasses all areas of the law. He has experienced at various levels of court including the Nova Scotia Provincial Court, Nova Scotia Supreme Court, Nova Scotia Supreme Court Family Division and Nova Scotia Small Claims Court.
